- I'm a retired teacher who was diagnosed with ALS during the summer of 2007. However, symptoms were evident from 2004. Presently, I'm in a wheel chair 24/7 and am slowly losing my speech. Although the disease has become more and more frustrating I've been able to keep my spirits up and enjoy almost every day. I love my apartment with it's gorgeous views and close proximity to shops. It was a smart move from my house on Burnaby Mountain. Care workers, family, and friends have been terrific at helping me traverse down this winding ALS road filled with challenges.
I do exercise--honest
I rarely make phone calls any more because of my ALS accent and voice fatigue.
Have confidence-- will travel.
This is my house and don't bother me.

Hi Karyn,
I'm back to my evening work from vacation. How are you?
I must say: your early morning photo of "Up the Creek" is the most beautiful one you have yet posted. The colours are so light and ethereal I can picture myself and/or everyone in the city capable of floating through the rosy skies, only sinking toward earth as the hues and tints solidify to a later-morning blue.
