Welcome to my blog. I have had ALS for 10 years now.

Since I started this blog in June 2008 I've had amazing feedback. Family, friends, people from all over North America, Australia, Scotland, England, and places I can't recall, have commented, encouraged and corresponded. I had no idea when Cynthia taught me how to set this up, how much I would love posting and how many people would read it. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has helped propel this therapeutic exercise into a daily routine. All of you, both friends and visitors, are now part of my blog family. Welcome.

A sad time--2 Canadian inspirations passed away

ALS continues to take away some wonderful people. Both Corrine and Joel were inspirations to me.
Joel was from Abbotsford and helped me pave the way for tracheostomy if I so choose.
Corrine was from Hamilton and did so much for an example to others--she walked the talk of what can be done despite ALS.
They were both in their 50s and had so much to give--they died way too soon.
We need to find a cure!

these always break my heart, karyn. i can't even imagine how you get through each day. know that i pray for you every single day! kali and i have been on the road for the past two weeks, that's why you haven't heard from me. internet has been very sketchy where we were. traveling with kali doing her debating thing. she's really getting quite good at it! she's thinking about the possibility of lawyering one day now. that would be awesome!
