- I'm a retired teacher who was diagnosed with ALS during the summer of 2007. However, symptoms were evident from 2004. Presently, I'm in a wheel chair 24/7 and am slowly losing my speech. Although the disease has become more and more frustrating I've been able to keep my spirits up and enjoy almost every day. I love my apartment with it's gorgeous views and close proximity to shops. It was a smart move from my house on Burnaby Mountain. Care workers, family, and friends have been terrific at helping me traverse down this winding ALS road filled with challenges.
I do exercise--honest
I rarely make phone calls any more because of my ALS accent and voice fatigue.
Have confidence-- will travel.
This is my house and don't bother me.

merry christmas, karyn! i hope you had a great day! glad to see that you were spoiled :). we spent a week in north carolina and got 9 inches of snow yesterday. it was so much fun! i really miss the snow - this was my daughter's first real experience and we made snowmen, snow angels, had a snowball fight, and took tons of pictures! now we are on our way home. should get back tomorrow. have a good week - i'll talk with you soon. alice
