Welcome to my blog. I have had ALS for 10 years now.

Since I started this blog in June 2008 I've had amazing feedback. Family, friends, people from all over North America, Australia, Scotland, England, and places I can't recall, have commented, encouraged and corresponded. I had no idea when Cynthia taught me how to set this up, how much I would love posting and how many people would read it. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has helped propel this therapeutic exercise into a daily routine. All of you, both friends and visitors, are now part of my blog family. Welcome.

Breathing test

I went for my breathing test and my FVC(forced volume vital capacity) has dropped to 61%. I started out at 100% 2.5 years ago but have been dropping significantly this past year.
I'm hoping to stabilize for awhile but one never knows. When I have difficulty they'll provide me with a BiPAP(bi-level positive airway pressure) to help me get more air both in and out. It's normal progression for ALS and I must continue trying my best to deal with every new hurdle. Many of my ALS pen pals are functioning very well with BiPAP--and so will I when the time comes.
