- I'm a retired teacher who was diagnosed with ALS during the summer of 2007. However, symptoms were evident from 2004. Presently, I'm in a wheel chair 24/7 and am slowly losing my speech. Although the disease has become more and more frustrating I've been able to keep my spirits up and enjoy almost every day. I love my apartment with it's gorgeous views and close proximity to shops. It was a smart move from my house on Burnaby Mountain. Care workers, family, and friends have been terrific at helping me traverse down this winding ALS road filled with challenges.
I do exercise--honest
I rarely make phone calls any more because of my ALS accent and voice fatigue.
Have confidence-- will travel.
This is my house and don't bother me.

Merry Christmas, Karyn! I've been gone all day to visit with my mom, who is 85 years old. We had a good visit - my family and her. I love your snow-filled photo. It's awesome. I really miss the snow at Christmas. Used to get plenty of it in Newfoundland. Not so much here in sunny Florida where it was in the 80's today :O).
